We caught up 707's Moe Green while he was out in Sacramento hosting Stalley's Sol Collective show. Above, Thicki Lake and Moe chat it up about his latest mixtape release Lionheart and all the support it has been receiving along with his favorite track on the project. The K.I.D.S: The Enlightenment
Conveying the message that our current civilization has become disconnected from our roots and GUD values, Sacramento based graffiti crew The K.I.D.S opened up the reception for their exhibition, "The Enlightenment" at Sol Collective Gallery, this past Saturday. The exhibit was a joint project between The K.I.D.S consisting of: Chris "Kidsolar" Barragan, Junior "KidCataclysm" Casablanca, Irubiel Moreno and other collaborators including Shaun Burner, Brooklyn based graffiti artist Groonzmaster, Illogic, Mad Cat and JOSF. While Channeling in on non-scientific beliefs and that nature is conscience of what we do as a collective humanity, artist Irubiel Moreno had an an array of blooms with an iris substituted for stigmas as one of the main features. The exhibit will be on display until June 11th, 2011 with a performance from Blacintosh and Cristo as the closing reception.
Uptown Swuite Interview
We recently got the chance to sit down with lyricist and fellow Vacavillain Uptown Swuite before he left for tour in New Zealand. The Polynesian emcee discussed misconceptions about his hometown, musical influences and his new album Church Street Blues. In our 17-minute chat with Uptown, he also touch basis on his visit to Tek & Sway's "Wake Up Show," his afilliation with San Jose based clothing brand Cukui and his Lee Bannon project that never saw the light.
